“The trumpeters and singers performed together in unison, to praise and give thanks to the Lord. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals, and other instruments, they raised their voices and praised the Lord with these words: “He is good! His faithful love endures forever!” - 2 Chronicles 5:13
Hebrews 10:25 tells us that Corporate Worship should never be taken for granted because it is in our assembling together that we experience God’s presence in a mighty way. 2 Chronicles 5:13 gives us a clear picture of what praise and worship assemblies should embody: a gathering of musicians and singers creating “unison praise”. The Message Bible translates the phrase, "unison praise" to “one voice”. What does that mean? Well, the sound of “one voice” is the sound of all encompassing worship i.e. it is the sound that is made when everyone present worships together as one. The Bible also tells us that when we are united in one voice through corporate worship, another level of power is released to us as believers. There truly is power in unity!
Furthermore 2 Chronicles goes on to tell us why we should lift our voices in worship and what we can say when we do; “He is good and His faithful love endures forever!” If you’ve ever walked into the sanctuary on Sunday morning feeling downcast or discouraged or are finding it difficult to get into praise and worship, we can think on this exact scripture and raise our voice in praise to the Lord. Thinking on the fact that God is Good and His Love for us endures forever, will change our perspective and heart condition instantly. When we think on God and His goodness we take the focus off of ourselves and our present condition and give our attention to the One who has overcome all things, and through Whom we overcome all things too. This is the release of power that becomes available to a congregation that worships and praises God in unity.
Today take some time to pray for a unified heart, spirit and voice of our congregation.
Ask God to release His supernatural power among the body when we are assembled together. Seek the Lord for personal strategies on how you can more affectionately praise and worship Him in your personal time then for the next seven days, devote yourself to thirty minutes of personal prayer and worship time each day.
May EL ELYON, God Most High, (Det. 6:19) be with you has you seek to praise and worship Him today.
